Hyvie Hamududu, the leader of the Opposition Party for National Unity and Progress, has expressed deep concern over the inadequate domestic economic reforms in Zambia that have resulted in persistent poverty among the Zambian population. During an appearance on Phoenix FM’s “Let the People Talk” program, Mr. Hamududu emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive reforms to tackle the economic challenges that the country is currently facing.

In addition, Mr. Hamududu has cautioned against relying solely on debt restructuring as a means of economic recovery for Zambia. He stressed the importance of implementing reforms that are focused on the domestic economy, which will ensure long-term stability and prosperity for the nation.

Furthermore, Mr. Hamududu has called on the government to take immediate action in addressing the excessive level of public expenditure, which he believes exceeds the acceptable threshold. This call for fiscal responsibility highlights the need for effective management of the country’s finances in order to alleviate the economic burdens faced by the Zambian people.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hamududu has raised questions regarding the government’s failure to sell the luxurious V8 vehicles used by ministers, despite the prevailing economic challenges in the country. This raises concerns about the government’s commitment to addressing the economic issues faced by ordinary citizens, as the sale of these vehicles could potentially generate much-needed revenue for the nation.

In conclusion, Hyvie Hamududu’s concerns about the weak domestic economic reforms in Zambia and the resulting poverty among the population highlight the urgent need for comprehensive reforms. His emphasis on domestically oriented reforms, fiscal responsibility, and the sale of luxurious vehicles used by ministers demonstrates his commitment to ensuring long-term economic stability and prosperity for Zambia.
