The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has fallen short of its annual target for 2023, having issued only 10,000 certificates of title to property owners out of the intended 60,000. Despite efforts to increase the issuance of title deeds, progress has been slower than anticipated.

Lands and Natural Resources Minister Elijah Muchima announced at a media briefing this morning that the issuance of title deeds has fallen short of the annual target for.

The Ministry of Land Administration has fallen short of its annual target for title deed issuance by 2023, according to Mr. Muchima. In an effort to combat corruption in land administration, the ministry has launched a digitalization program aimed at improving service delivery. This program is expected to streamline the process of obtaining title deeds and reduce the incidence of corruption in the sector.

However, there is hope that the recently introduced Zambia integrated land administration system will help to streamline the process and make it more accessible for citizens. With this new system, individuals will be able to access land administration services online, potentially improving efficiency and reducing delays.

The issuance of title deeds has fallen short of the annual target set for 2023, according to recent reports. To address this issue, Mr. Muchima has emphasized the importance of reviewing the current lands tribunal and ensuring that it meets the needs of citizens and functions effectively throughout the country.
