🚨 Zero Tolerance for Corruption! 🚨
Lusaka, Zambia – In a bold move aimed at strengthening accountability and fighting corruption, Secretary to the Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa, has issued a firm directive to all Controlling Officers to take disciplinary action against procurement officers found engaging in misconduct.
Speaking on the matter, Mr. Kangwa emphasised that officers who break procurement regulations must face the full force of the law—without exception! He further warned that Controlling Officers who fail to act will themselves be subject to disciplinary measures.
Gone are the days when erring procurement officers were simply moved to different departments. Mr. Kangwa made it clear that this culture of impunity must end, stating that those found guilty should face outright dismissal rather than being shielded through internal transfers.
“Procurement misconduct is a major breeding ground for corruption. We cannot afford to allow a few individuals to sabotage national progress through unethical practices. Those found guilty must be fired—not transferred,” Mr. Kangwa asserted.
This directive signals a major shift in how government procurement fraud will be handled, with a focus on transparency, discipline, and zero tolerance for corruption.
