🔋☀️ Major Energy Breakthrough: 332MW of Solar Energy Added to Zambia’s Grid! 🇿🇲

Zambia is taking a historic leap towards energy sufficiency and citizen empowerment as ZESCO signs 29 Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Independent Power Providers across the nation. This monumental move, facilitated under the Micro-Generator Scheme and Presidential Solar Initiative, will inject 332MW of solar capacity into the national grid.

💡 What This Means for Zambia:

✅ Energy Diversification – Reduced reliance on hydropower, ensuring a more stable electricity supply.
✅ Citizen Participation – More Zambians involved in the energy sector, fostering economic opportunities.
✅ Sustainable Development – Solar power aligns with global climate change strategies and promotes renewable energy.
✅ Stronger Economy – A reliable energy supply will drive industrial growth, job creation, and business expansion.

A Milestone for Energy Independence

President Hakainde Hichilema reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that all Zambians have access to stable and affordable electricity, which is a key pillar for the nation’s long-term prosperity. This initiative marks a bold step towards energy security and economic growth.
