In an inspiring move towards advancing Zambia’s sustainability and healthcare sectors, President Hakainde Hichilema visited two pioneering companies in Kyoto, Japan, this morning: Horiba Technologies Group and Sustaina Kyoto South Clean Centre.

Horiba Technologies Group, renowned globally for its analytical instruments, is at the forefront of delivering innovative solutions that address pressing environmental challenges and healthcare diagnostics. President Hichilema’s visit to this tech giant marks the beginning of what is expected to be a transformative partnership aimed at improving Zambia’s healthcare services.

“By leveraging Horiba’s cutting-edge technologies, we aim to enhance healthcare outcomes for Zambians, ensuring that quality diagnostics and treatments are within reach for every citizen,” stated President Hichilema. This collaboration promises to create a lasting impact on the health sector, offering advancements that will support both the well-being of individuals and the overall public health framework.

The President also explored the innovative waste management technologies at Sustaina Kyoto South Clean Centre. This facility has pioneered an eco-friendly method of converting waste into energy, a solution that President Hichilema believes can revolutionize Zambia’s waste management system.

“With Zambia’s increasing population, waste management is a growing challenge. We have directed the Ministry of Local Government to replicate this model, working with local authorities to promote sustainable waste management and generate clean energy,” he emphasized.

The initiative promises not only to address waste disposal issues but also to provide a renewable energy source, boosting Zambia’s efforts toward sustainability and energy security.

As Zambia continues its journey toward a greener and healthier future, President Hichilema’s visit to Japan underscores the government’s commitment to fostering international partnerships that bring innovative solutions to the country. These developments are expected to bolster Zambia’s environmental sustainability and healthcare systems, creating a better quality of life for all.
