President Howard Kunda of the Wake Up Party in Zambia has emphasized the importance of the ruling UPND party to actively engage with the citizens and opposition parties in order to address pressing issues in the country.
Mr. Kunda pointed out that the current shortage of mealie meal in Zambia can be attributed to President Hakainde Hichilema’s decision to sell maize to the Democratic Republic of Congo despite advice against it.
He criticized the UPND government for prioritizing their own interests over the welfare of the Zambian people, suggesting that they are more focused on personal gain rather than serving the nation.
The Wake Up Party President expressed his lack of confidence in the UPND’s ability to effectively govern the country, urging the citizens not to support the party in the upcoming 2026 elections.
Additionally, Mr. Kunda advised President Hichilema to seek guidance from experts and individuals with prior governmental experience to make informed decisions for the benefit of Zambia.
