He said the two countries could learn from each other on how public resources could be protected and other best practices for betterment of their peoples.

The Auditor General further said no country globally had ever developed with weak accountability and transparency levels.

He said his office would continue to partner with law enforcement agencies like DEC, ACC and many others to enhance accountability of public resources.

Speaking at the same event, Uganda’s
delegation leader Jane Pacuto who is the Chairperson of Committee on Finance, Planning and Economic Development said her team was eager to learn from Zambia on how it had managed to dealt with the mismagement of public resources.

Mrs Pacuto said it was the mandate of the Office of the Auditor General to ensure that public resources were protected hence the more reason the two countries needed to learn from each other.

The Ugandan delegation which is on a study visit comprises seven members of parliament and four members of staff from the Office of the Auditor General of that country.

During their visit they will interact with the Speaker, the Secretary to Treasury and Law Enforcement Agencies.
