Alina Karimamusama was hand selected for the once in a lifetime opportunity to light a beacon for Her Majesty The Queen at Coutts Bank, the famous bank for millionaires in the UK and the same bank which has served all the members of the royal family including the Queen for generations. This has marked the first time a Zambian has been invited by Coutts to light a beacon in honor of the Queen

Lighting the beacon is a prestigious honor reserved for members in high society with close relations to the monarchy.

Alina Karimamusama was also invited as a VVIP guest and commonwealth leader, to attend the principal beacon lighting at Buckingham Palace with Prince William which was lit by the monarch herself, Queen Elizabeth. She was also later invited to a party at Buckingham Palace

Speaking to BBC World News in a Global TV interview, Miss Karimamusama said “young people are beacons of hope in their communities, and that’s the symbol”, she also represented the Queens Commonwealth Trust to exclusive celebrity events which showcased 50 crown jewels that the Queen has worn during her reign, a party at Buckingham palace and ambassadorial/delegate events.

Her inspirational story has been broadcasted in multiple news outlets across the United Kingdom and she has been photographed networking and fundraising with international celebrities like her mentor Naomi Campbell, famous footballers and movie stars.
